WinterPRIDE 2009 Mr. Gay World Competition
February 4-8, 2009 was the global final challenge to find the one man to be crowned Mr. Gay World. His mission is to work with the international delegation to lead them in a coordinated effort to fight for equality for all humans, specifically the LGBT community. The 24 men represent all regions of the planet and have been chosen by their country/ region to stand up and be the face of their community. |

The Mr. Gay World Competition was held in tandem with WinterPRIDE had various challenges that tested each of the delegates' strength in leadership, charisma, intelligence and being a positive role model and ambassador / spokesperson for the global cause of equality, respect and understanding. |

Challenges included a fashion show, press lunch on top of Blackcomb Mountain via the new Peak 2 Peak Gondola sponsored by Air New Zealand, an Eco Challenge, Culinary Challenge, Photo shoot, Media Training and Human Rights Training with Out Olympic Gold Medalist - Mark Tewksbury. The results: 24 delegates were whittled down several finalists. Mr. Gay Paraguay was the runner-up, Mr. Gay Philippines insured Asia was well represented by taking the 'Best Costume Award' and 'Mr. Popular Award'. Mr. Gay Argentina took Mr. Photogenic Award; Mr. Gay Colombia was supported by the fellow delegates with the Mr. Congeniality while Mr. Gay Paraguay won Mr. Swimwear. Mr. Gay Australia received the Mr. Leadership Award for his efforts at the various team challenges. 37-year-old Max Kryzanowski is a security guard for a private club in Dublin city, and is also a Muay Thai kickboxing instructor took home top honors as "Mr. Gay World 2009".
